GRAHAM ROCKINGHAM’S BEST BETS

-

DAVE RAVE

Dave Rave presents his annual “Shake, Rattle and Rave” post-Christmas soiree at The Casbah (Queen at King St. W.), featuring Dave, his band (including Carl Jennings on bass) and sensational singer Hailee Rose. Opening acts are Delta Days and Mackenzie Meyer. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 8 p.m. Tickets $20, available at Dr. Disc, Picks and Sticks.

THE EGGMEN

All Beatles, all night, ALL RIGHT! The Eggmen are four local Beatle fanatics — Doug Feaver, Steve Sinnicks, Rick Andrew and Bill Dillon — who get together every so often to play the music of their favourite band. The Eggmen perform Thursday, Dec. 28, 9 p.m., at This Ain’t Hollywood, 345 James St. N. $10 admission.

WILL GILLESPIE

Will Gillespie’s whimsical music combines elements of folk, rock and cabaret. He’s put together a new “jazz-power-trio” he calls the Cheese Wizards and they’ll be part of a local double bill that also features Deeps and DJ Aerlie Wild. They perform Friday, Dec. 29, at This Ain’t Hollywood, 345 James St. N. Doors at 8 p.m. First band at 10 p.m. $10

JEFF DUNHAM

If you think it a little crazy that a ventriloquist is performing in a hockey arena, you’d probably be right. But Jeff Dunham is a crazy kind of guy. I’ve seen him perform before several thousand people at Copps Coliseum and, believe me, he can pull it off. You’ll be in stitches. Dunham is at FirstOntario Centre Friday, Dec. 29, 7 p.m. Tickets, $68.25, plus service charges, through Ticketmaster.

JACK DE KEYZER

New Year’s Eve marks the end of an era at the Bay City Music Hall, 50 Leander Dr., with the waterfront venue’s final show before closing. The Music Hall is going out in style with a specia show by double Juno winner Jack de Keyzer, who is always at his best performing in his old home, Hamilton. Sunday, Dec. 31. Showtime is 9 p.m. $20 in advance or $20 at the door.
