The public is invited to pay their respects to Holly Hamilton at a public visitation for the murder victim on Friday.

Hamilton’s family announced the public visitation will take place Friday, Jan. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at P.X. Dermody’s Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave. The funeral service is private. “Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers and support at this difficult time,” said her brother Cass Hamilton. “It has been truly humbling.”

Hamilton’s body was found in the trunk of her vehicle Jan. 17, two days into a citywide hunt for the missing single mother. The 29year-old had been stabbed to death.

Justin Dumpfrey, Hamilton’s 30-year-old ex-boyfriend and the father of her four-year-old daughter, is charged with second-degree murder.

The relationship had a documented history of domestic violence, including a past conviction for assault. She was last seen alive the evening of Jan. 14, near Dumpfrey’s basement apartment on Barton Street East at Fairfield Avenue North, near Strathearne Avenue.

A GoFundMe account — Holly Hamilton Funeral Expenses to cover funeral expenses and support for Hamilton’s daughter has raised more than $18,000. The goal is $20,000.

Dumpfrey is scheduled to appear in court by video link Wednesday.
