It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Valterno Presutti in his 91st year, peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton. Valterno leaves his devoted wife of 62 years, Lucia, and sons Carmine (Sally) and Paolo (Marilyn). He is survived by his brother Pasquale (Adrianna) and predecease­d by his parents Nicola and Carmela, his brother Dario (Anna) and sister Dominica (Domenico). He was loved by all his nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. Valterno was the first of the family to immigrate to Canada from Vittorito, Abruzzo, Italy in 1953. He was a proud Canadian who worked for over 32 years at Internatio­nal Harvester/Case. He enjoyed his favourite pastime of making award winning homemade wine and tending to his tomatoes and garden. Thank you to all the caring staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, the staff at the Carlisle, and a special thanks to the dedicated Doctors and Nurses at the Hamilton General Heart Function Clinic. Resting at FRISCOLANT­I FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. on Wednesday, February 14, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at Annunciati­on of Our Lord Church (280 Limeridge Road, W., Hamilton) on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Hamilton General Heart Function Clinic or a charity of your choice.
