FRANCESCHINI, Michael Anthony

After a short courageous battle with brain cancer, the man who always smiled and never complained, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Michael was the loving and devoted husband of 40 years to the late Hilda. Very proud and cherished father to his three daughters Laura and Steven Holbrook, Sarah and Graham Chrystman and Erika and Mark Stipe. Adoring Papa to Georgia, Hartman, Ava and Harrison. Treasured brother to the late Ron Franceschini, Rita and Ed Fredson and Rosella and Chris Elgar. Brother-in-law to Martha and the late Rob Steele, Alexis and Chuck Simmons and Gary and Wendy Nagel. Michael will also be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A lifelong career in the textile industry divided between his own companies and a long and loyal relationship with Sears. The handiest of handyman, Mike could fix or build just about anything. There are no words that can fully express the gratitude we have for his dear friends Fred and Mary Anderton and the excellent care our father received at St. Peter’s Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Shadd and Dr. Bev for the compassion and kindness you have shown our father throughout his illness. Thank you so very much to the entire nursing staff on 3 East especially Kimberly, Deb, Michelle, Anita, Cindy, Dorothy, Helena and Teresa. Your dedication to your patients is remarkable and will not be forgotten. Also a special thank you to Dr. Algird and his Neuroscience team along with the nursing staff at the Hamilton General Hospital. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James) on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Rosary Church, 287 Plains Rd. E., Burlington on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Bayview Mausoleum, Burlington.
