Hamilton Girls’ Field Lacrosse Winter Skills Clinic for girls ages 7 and up are welcome to give Canada’s national summer sport a try at our skills clinic. Floor fee is $12 per session. A first was turned in by Sean Bailey at Skyway Lanes as games of 247, 269, 226 & 278 produced his first ever 1000 set with no pins to spare, an even 1000. With a 983 set (247, 233, 269, 234) was Dave Custeau and Ray Sakalas scored a 929 (263). John Cherriere scored a 233 & Mike Merkir 222.

Top averages in the Skyway Jonarc league belong to Art Oliver 232, Travis Cauley 230 & Ryan Dickenson 221. The City Tenpin’s best are Mick Anderer 221 & Kevin Kartonchik 219. The top two on Sunday night are Brian Ward 213 and Mark Ward 205 and James Morrison fired a 289 single. The best of the Monday Knight ladies is Lisa Howard at 184 average, 628 triple & 245 single. Wendy Jeffery dealt a 226 and with 222’s are Lorraine Bailey & Kristine Bartlett.

Ed Margueratt rolled his second 700 of the season and ninth overall as games of 219, 254 & 237 produced a 710. Earlier this season he fired a 707 to go along with earlier 700’s of 723, 722, 720, 719, 713, 710 & 701. Two weeks later he blasted a 663 (225,238,200) then a pair of 213’s the next week to raise his average to 198. Pat Horton smashed a 249 single. Mike Ellis has a 203 average after triples of 686 (267), 650 & 610. Tamiko Hikida earned praise from her P&G league secretary by sparing the 2 — 7 — 9 — 10 split. Then that same reliable secretary, spared the difficult 1 — 5 — 9. Conrad Merkir, after a pair of 205 games, then had a first frame open in his next game then struck out for a 279 game and a “11 in a row” award. Kristine Bartlett surpassed her average by 104 pins for a 268 single and a CTF Century watch and a 604 triple. In other Skyway Monday night action, Carol Muir 570 (215), Wendy Jeffrey 545 (226), Lorraine Bailey 519 (222), Barb Major 200, Cheryl Feller and Susan White 185 and Maxine Rogers 180. After a 30 year wait, Janet Katz, 134 average, has her first 200 game, a stunning 202 for a season high 451 (139, 110, 202) triple. First year bowler Randy Adam, 98 average, fired a 373 triple with a 146 single. Kim Adam, 104 average, scored a 384 triple, Adana Lyn Jackson, 119 average, a 165 single and 461 triple, Mike Rouse, 124 average, 169 single and 440 triple and Nicole Raymer, 145 average, steady with 190 189 and 180 for a 559. A pair of high average bowlers were hot as Corey Raymer smashed a 735 (224, 267, 244) and Jeff Plumbley blasted a 643 (233, 236).
