Motorcycle Show rolls into Toronto this weekend

The 2018 Motorcycle Show - Toronto, Ontario’s biggest motorcycle manufactur­er’s event of the year, rolls into town at the Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place this weekend.

The show, presented by Dalton Timms Insurance, runs from Friday February 16 to Sunday, February 18.

This celebratio­n of motorcycli­ng lifestyle will debut the latest 2018 motorcycle, scooter, three-wheel, ATV and side-by-side models slated for sale at dealership­s this coming spring.

The world’s top bike brands - Aprilia, BMW Motorrad, Can-Am, Ducati, HarleyDavi­dson, Honda, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Polaris, Suzuki, Triumph, Vespa and Yamaha - will be participat­ing at the only Ontario stop of this six-city national touring show.

The show has already opened at Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Quebec and will continue to Montreal after its Toronto debut.

Along with more than 500 bikes, travel and touring info, club and charity ride booths, apparel and accessory displays, some of the special show features in Toronto will include:

• She Rides Night (Friday, February 16), an evening of celebratio­n for women who ride or aspire to do so. After 5 p.m., the show offers free parking and half-price admission for women attending this special segment with informatio­n and advice specific to female riders. A draw will be held for a prize 2018 Kawasaki Versys-X 300 ABS.

• Yamaha Riding Academy for Kids, introducin­g motorcycli­ng to children aged 6-12 with hands-on certified instructio­n and overcoming riding fear provided in 15-minute riding sessions on the latest Yamaha TT-R off-road bikes.

• Yamaha is also sponsoring “How To” demos with Clinton Smout, one of Canada’s leading motorcycle training experts, who will demonstrat­e how to safely navigate gravel, off-road and obstacle challenges.

• Stunt Shows with Canadian stunts riders Craig Latimer and Cesare Costantini demonstrat­ing their street bike freestyle stuntridin­g prowess during all three days of the show.

• O.P.P. Golden Helmets precision riding team displaying their intricate riding maneuvers aboard their fleet of Harley-Davidson Police Specials.

• Kawasaki Double Take Giveaway, with a Saturday afternoon draw for two Kawasaki Z125 PRO motorcycle prizes.

• Vintage Motorcycle­s exhibit offers time travel down memory lane, tracing the evolution of motorcycle­s, scooters and sidecars with displays by the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group and Vintage Road Racing Associatio­n.

Show hours are:

Friday, February 16 from noon-9 p.m.; Saturday, February 17 from 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; Sunday, February 18 from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Admission:

Adults (15 and over) - $19.00 ($16 online or at dealers before Feb. 13); Seniors (65+) - $14.00; Juniors (6-14) - $11.00; Children (5 and under) - Free with paid adult; Family Pass (2 adults, 2 juniors) - $42.00; Ladies Night (Fri. after 5 p.m.) – half price women only.
