We are grateful to Bob Morrow

RE: BOB MORROW

I have followed Bob Morrow’s career since his political arena entry in 1968. A deeply religious — of Catholic faith — city councillor, Bob Morrow helped everybody. We of Hindu Samaj of Hamilton and Region community are indebted to Bob Morrow for his support and encouragement for making Hamilton our true home. In the late ’80s we were able to establish a Hindu temple on Twenty Road, Hannon (a suburb of Hamilton then), and Bob Morrow then His Worship the Mayor certainly gave us a helping hand. Any significant event or festival that we celebrated the mayor was sure to attend and participate. He became one of us; deeply respected and loved.

Mayor Morrow’s baton was passed on to successive mayors Bob Wade, Larry Di Ianni, Bob Bratina and now Fred Eisenberger, all of whom have been helping us. In the wake of 9/11 our Hamilton Hindu Samaj temple was burned down and even though not in office, Bob Morrow actively helped us in our rebuilding efforts. We are truly grateful.

As we bid farewell to our Hamilton People’s Mayor — His Worship Bob Morrow — We pray that God grant Bob Morrow’s soul eternal peace and that God grant his family, friends and the community that Bob served, the strength to sustain this loss. Rest in peace Bob Morrow!

II Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti: II — “Let there be Peace everywhere.”

G. Dighe, member, Hindu Samaj of Hamilton & Region Temple
