BLESSED SACRAMENT BASKETBALL

Eric Chaleunsou­k topped all scorers with 23 points in leading the Spurs to a 45—40 victory over the Celtics as they claimed the Blessed Sacrament Basketball Bantam Boys Houseleagu­e Championsh­ip on the weekend. The Celtics trailed by 15 points in the second half and stormed back to within 3 points trailing 41—38 with less than a minute left but could not complete the comeback. Jordan Coltart tossed in 15 points for the Celtics. In semifinal action, Justus Dryden with 10 points was the leading scorer for the Celtics as they held off the upset minded Lakers to advance with a 43—40 victory. Sean DeJonge scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half as the Lakers came from a 12 point deficit late in the game but were held off by the Celtics. In the other semi, the Spurs outlasted the Pistons 48—27. Anthony Borelli scored twelve for the Spurs and Mohammed Beauvais replied with eight for the Pistons. In the quarters, Cole Alkema led all scorers with 25 points. Zachary Buist stole a throw in and scored on the buzzer as the Lakers upset the higher ranked Suns by a 55—53 score. Aaron Rodgers threw in 16 points for the Suns. Also, Ethan Cherrett scored 13 points as the Pistons advanced with a 46— 39 victory over the Kings. Jayson Hachey replied with 12 points for the Kings.
