The result of school, media ‘radicalization’

-

What we are witnessing on Locke Street with “The Ungovernables” ransacking the neighbourhood is the result of a radicalization process taking place in schools, media and the community. Our education system encourages everyone to discover how he/she is somehow a victim of society and to seek redress/revenge. So it is not surprising when this accepted anger turns to violence.

Walking around town one cannot help but notice the ubiquitous and meaningless graffiti which is tolerated and accepted as “art” in some circles but to others is a sign of decay in youth raised on drugs and enmity for their fellow citizens.

I place the blame for this violence directly on the masked violent marauders. I also think that we ought to pay more attention to the curricula and media young people are receiving with its promotion of radicalism. This veneration of anarchy comes now from the top — praise for dictators and terrorist groups is seen by certain leaders as excitingly edgy and “progressive”; deserving a respected place in the “social fabric” of Canada. Our own founders and heroes of the past are now viewed as “white colonizers.” The messages coming from schools, media and certain leaders serve to tolerate the intolerable and encourage this kind of horrible violence.
