Mission Services of Hamilton celebrates International Women’s Day today, and every day of the year.

At Mission Services it is our goal to provide compassionate care, safe spaces and support for all women.

Inasmuch House is our Violence Against Women’s Shelter for women and children fleeing domestic abuse or violence. Half of Canadian women have experienced at least one incident of physical assault or sexual violence since the age of sixteen. Inasmuch House provides safe refuge to women and children faced with this reality. In addition we provide a wide range of services including transitional housing support, child and youth advocacy, and legal advocacy. We strive to help women looking to change their lives, to do so independently and away from violence. We recognize that healing for both women and children who have experienced trauma and abuse can only begin when there is a safe and comforting space for them to reconnect and move forward. For these reasons we work hard to ensure all women are treated with dignity and receive the support they need as they transition toward a future free from violence.

Willow’s Place is one of the only safe and inclusive drop-in spaces in Hamilton where women coming together is empowering, creates change and enhances quality of life. Willow’s offers meals, laundry and shower facilities, and ensures that marginalized women in our community have some of their basic needs met. It also provides social connections and builds a sense of community. Staff make referrals to other community services as needed. Regular hours are Monday- Friday 10 am-3pm.
