HANHAM, Patricia Gail (nee Harper)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Mom, daughter, sister, and dear friend Patricia Gail Hanham. Pat died peacefully in her home on the waterfront in Hamilton, Ontario on March 8, 2018. Pat is predeceased by her husband James Hanham but leaves behind her daughter and family Susan and Rod Prendergast (son Markus), son and family Steven and Courtney Hanham (daughter Calley), her Mom, Doris Harper, her sisters Carol (Ivan), and Brenda (Bruce), brother James Harper (Louise) and her dear friends and inlaws Robert and Lynn Hanham and Doug and Brenda Hanham. Pat also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and extended family as well as very dear friends both in the Hamilton area and “up north” on the French River. Pat was the kindest most generous friend and was actively involved in charity work with the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. She organized walks and 50’s and 60’s dances to raise money for research and treatment for those living with a brain tumour as she did. She lived her life with grace and compassion and touched so many lives with her openness and her hugs. She would tell you that her best memories are those of her time with family and friends at her home on the French River - a home that was open to anyone willing to relax on the water. Pat had the most beautiful singing voice and she loved to sing. She was a member of several choirs throughout her lifetime in Strabane, Hamilton, Halifax and most recently Burlington. Pat was also very involved with the Burlington Senior’s Centre where she volunteered. Pat’s family and friends will remember her beautiful smile, her kindness and the fact that she loved very deeply. She will be so missed. A celebration of Pat’s life will take place on Thursday March 15th at KITCHING, STEEPE &

LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, Ontario, from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation being made in Pat’s name to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
