Peacefully surrounded by his family, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marian in his 86th year. He leaves behind his wife Janina of 66 years, his children Josephine (Stan) Brzozowski, Alice (Ed) Swiderski, Anne (Henry) Malek, Stan Szmigielsk­i, Mary (Pete) Dmytruk and Lily (Rob) Kuypers. He will be greatly missed by his grandchild­ren Christine (Gary), Jennifer (Duane), Kristin (John), Jason, Ashley, Derek, Lily-Jean, Lucas, Elyse, Josh, Jessica, Jackelyn and Corey, and remembered by his greatgrand­children Nathan, Madison, Olivia, Chase, Norah, Claire, Tripp and Kane. Marian is survived by his sister Frania (Janek) Zawacka and nieces, nephews and cousins in Poland and pre-deceased by his parents Josef Szmigielsk­i and Maria Szmigielsk­a (nee Starzynska). Marian will be deeply missed by all extended family, and many friends. Visitation will take place at GLEN OAKS FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville (403/Dundas) on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. James Parish, 231 Morden Road, Oakville. Entombment to follow at Glen Oaks. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful care team at Oakville Hospital 5 South, your compassion is greatly appreciate­d.
