FURII, Romolo

-

With great sadness and heartbreak we announce the passing of Romolo on March 8, 2018. He leaves behind his loving wife Paula, his sons Michael (Yvonne), Andrew (Julia), and his precious grandchildren Samantha and Adriano. Romolo is survived by his siblings Armando (Irma), Antonetta (Nicola), Ginetta (Alessandro), sisters-in-law Carmela and Mary Trimboli (Domenic), father-in-law Domenico Portolesi, and many nieces and nephews in Hamilton and Italy. He is predeceased by his parents Marino and Domenica, mother-in-law Teresa Portolesi, and brothers Giovanni (Rosina), Biagio (Lucia), and Francesco. Romolo was born in Miano, Teramo, Italy on April 19, 1954 and through his life treasured his family above all else. All were welcome to share a meal and stay awhile, and the guest rooms were always ready. One of his great passions was West-Mount Electric Group Inc., where in true Romolo style all were part of the family. His other great love was the game of soccer. He refereed on Sunday mornings, taught referees, and mentored new referees. We wish to thank the Toronto General Hospital Transplant Team and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre for all their care of Romolo. Visitation is at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905-574-0405) on Monday, March 12 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ann’s Parish, 11 Wilson St. W., Ancaster on Tuesday, March 13th at 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Romolo’s memory can be made to the Toronto General Transplant Clinic and Princess Margaret Hospital.
