A 40-year-old Hamilton tow truck driver faces charges of careless driving after hitting a woman who was crossing the street in Dundas last month.

Margaret Black, 70, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a truck while crossing Sydenham Street at King Street West on Feb. 6. She died on Feb. 15.

Announcing the charges on Tuesday, police did not name the accused, whom they charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

He is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court on April 23.
