New Volvos in New York

-

NEW YORK, NY: Volvo unveiled two vehicles at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) - the new 2019 V60 midsize wagon and the 2019 XC40 Inscription, the latest luxury trim version of the compact XC40 SUV.

VOLVO V60 2019:

The new second generation 2019 V60 premium midsize five-door station wagon took centre stage at Volvo’s media day presentation at the NYIAS.

Built on Volvo’s versatile Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, shared with XC60 and 90 Series vehicles, the new V60 offers new sleek styling and design, advanced techs and new levels of connectivity along with the latest modern wagon traits of functional utility.

In Canada, the V60 will be offered in T5 DriveE and T6 DriveE models. Both models harness 2.0-litre engines mated to eightspeed automatic transmissions.

The T5 turbocharged version makes 250 hp and 258 lb/ft of torque mated to a frontwheel drive system and available in Momentum trim.

The T6 turbocharged and supercharged motor makes a more muscular 316 hp and 295 lb/ft of torque, translated via standard all-wheel drive and comes with models available in Momentum and Inscription trim levels.

The 2019 V60 lineup will come to Canada in late 2018 with prices starting at $43,900. VOLVO XC40 INSCRIPTION 2019:

A new Inscription trim level adds breadth and ultimate luxury to the XC40 lineup that debuted earlier this year.

This new third trim level offers standard features that include Harman Kardon Premium Audio, ergonomically designed leather seating, an Orrefors Crystal gear shift, 18-inch six-spoke Black Diamond Cut wheels and interior trim with the available driftwood-styled inlays that received acclaim in the award-winning XC60.

These extras will complement an already well-equipped new compact SUV with innovative technologies that include Volvo Cars’ Pilot Assist system, City Safety, Runoff Road protection and mitigation, Cross Traffic alert with brake support and the 360 Degree Camera that helps drivers maneuver into tight parking spaces.

That same degree of innovation inside the XC40 improves functional storage space in the doors and under the seats, while adding cellphone storage with wireless charging, a foldout hook for small bags and a removable waste bin in the console.

The new XC40 Inscription trim will arrive in Canada as a 2019 model by late summer, joining the Momentum ($39,500) and R-Design ($43,700) trim levels with pricing to be announced later.
