Close your ears, Swifties — Twitter is not here for Taylor Swift’s latest cover.

On Friday, the country singer turned pop star released a version of Earth, Wind Fire’s “September,” and Twitter had an overwhelmingly negative reaction.

Swift’s cover was done in honour of the famous ’70s band, who presented her with a Grammy Award in 2016.

Here are some of the most impassioned reactions, including one Twitter user who let a gif explain how she felt after listening to the track.

“The line must be drawn HERE! No further!,” the gif read.

Others hoped the song wouldn’t gain traction.

“#BlackTwitter I need you to make sure that Taylor Swift’s cover of September never sees the light of day,” one tweeted.

Others said it put them in a bad mood.

“Hearing Taylor Swift sing Earth Wind and Fire’s September has killed my spirit!” another shared.

“Taylor Swift covering September has ruined my Friday,” another wrote.

And some just didn’t want to hear it.

“i can’t think of anything i’d like to hear less than taylor swift covering September,” one said.

Even some Swifties had a problem with the cover.

“I am a famously unapologetic lover of Taylor Swift but her cover of September by Earth Wind and Fire has actually upset me,” one wrote.

The reaction wasn’t all bad though. Some thought the cover was great.

“September is Taylor Swift’s greatest cover of all time. Don’t fight me on this,” one user shared.

“Wow (Taylor Swift’s) cover of September, suddenly i am frolicking in a field of sunflowers in a pale blue dress with my non existent boyfriend, he lifts me up & we twirl in the sunflowers & probably get an allergic reaction but we don’t care because there never was a cloudy day,” another tweeted.

“Excuse me everyone, @taylorswift13’s cover of September makes me wish I was in love?? Or like ever ever in love? How does she do this??” another wrote.
