South African rock band Kongos will be among the acts performing free at Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival.

WEBER BROTHERS

Born and raised in Baltimore, Ryan and Sam Weber left home at an early age to study rock and roll under rockabilly legend Ronnie Hawkins. They’ve been touring and recording roots rock ever since, earning a reputation as the “baddest band in the land.” The Weber Brothers perform Thursday, April 26, at This Ain’t Hollywood, 345 James St. N., with Chris Altmann. $8. BANNERS

Banners is the stage name of Liverpool native Michael Joseph Nelson who sings anthemic pop songs like “Shine A Light,” a minor radio hit a couple of years ago. He’s appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and earlier this month was a guest on “American Idol.” Banners performs Thursday, April 26, at Club Absinthe, 38 King William St., with Hamilton’s Ellevator and New Love. $15, plus fees, in advance through Ticketfly.com. TWIN WITHIN

Hamilton’s Twin Within (Steve McKay and Alex Samaras) team up with an eight-piece ensemble from the Hamilton Philarmoni­c Orchestra Friday, April 27, 7:30 p.m. in the HPO Indie Series at The Music Hall (formerly New Vision United Church), 24 Main St. W. CHOIR! CHOIR! CHOIR!

Choir! Choir! Choir! is a project led by creative directors Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman. The Toronto duo has performed at the Grey Cup, on Parliament Hill, in Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. On Saturday, April 28, at 7 p.m., they’ll perform a special Fleetwood Macthemed show in-the-round at the Hamilton Public Library where the audience gets to sing all the big hits. JOHNNY DOWD

Johnny Dowd has been singing his peculiar form of Texas-tinged dark country music for more than 40 years in various bands (Hellwood, Black Elastic, The Jokers) as well as several solo albums with titles like “A Drunkard’s Masterpiec­e,” and “Cemetery Shoes.” Dowd performs Tuesday, May 1, at This Ain’t Hollywood, 345 James St. N., with Hamilton’s own evil twang Chris Houston. $10. Doors open at 8 p.m.
