GRAY, Rita Theresa

-

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 26, 2018, on the eve of her 92nd birthday at Queen’s Garden Long Term Care Residence. Rita was born in Walkerton, ON, and was the youngest of 12 children. Loving wife of the late Allan for 59 years, they lived in Carluke, where they raised their four children, Mark (Brenda), Barry (Amy), Lori (Joseph) and Lindy. Rita was a wonderful mother to her children and a vibrant grandmother to her eight grandchildren; Jessica (Shawn), Joanna, Dianna, Juliana, Brent, Taylor, Riley and Brianne, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Olivia, Garrett and Scarlett ‘Custard’. Rita was a switch board operator at Eaton’s, where she worked for 35 years. She was a “fashionista” and will be remembered as a strong, happy and kindhearted woman who loved to sing, dance, and perform headstands, as long as it didn’t mess her hair. Rita’s family would like to extend their love and gratitude to all the Staff at Queens Garden for their exceptional care and support. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at ST. ANN’S PARISH, 11 Wilson St. W., Ancaster, ON L9G 1N1. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice, in memory of Rita.
