My Dual Credit Experience

My personal experience with Mohawk College’s dual credit program has been one of pleasant surprise and honest appreciation. Before discovering Turning Point and the dual credit programs, I had been through multiple online schools, which had proven difficult to navi gate, to engage with and to have interest in. When applying to the dua credit program, I was not sure what to expect, though I was greatly surprised to find out that the Environmental Sustainability and Intro duction to Sociology courses could count as credits towards both high school and college. I believe this alone is a fantastic reason to consider taking dual credits, but it also offered the best learning atmosphere I have experienced so far in my education and has re-sparked my love o learning. The Turning Point teachers have been extremely accommo dating and helpful while the dual credit teachers are passionate about the fields being explored in the program. Because of this, I have found a new confidence in my ability to further my education beyond high school and a genuine love of learning that I previously thought impos sible for someone like myself. I can say with confidence that the dua credit program’s flexibility, professional and positive environment, and the passion of the teachers involved, have helped to shape me into a more confident, mature student and person.
