CHARLES, Eliza “Ellie”

January 10, 1939 - June 2, 2018 Peacefully surrounded by family at St. Peter’s Hospital just shy of her 80th birthday. Beloved wife of Reuben for over 50 years. Loving mom of Lorelei Charles (Kevin Gamble) and Joel Charles (Andrea). Proudest Grandma to Alexia, Connor, Ava, Keira. Dear sister of Erlinda Munoz, Asuncion Bitong, Samuel Munoz and the late Raymundo and Romulo. Eliza started her career in nursing teaching at the Chedoke College of Nurses and spent the majority of her career at St. Peter’s Hospital where she was an Occupational Health Nurse and Infection Control Officer in which she took great pride in. After retiring in 1993, she spent her days working on the two family farms. She was involved with the charitable organization International Christian Voice (ICV). She was helping persecuted Christians and refugees. She will be dearly missed by her family, numerous friends and colleagues. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home - “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue West, Hamilton on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Grove Cemetery, Dundas. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the International Christian Voice or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
