Lather Up is favoured to win cup

CAMPBELLVILLE — Lather Up is the early 2-1 favourite for the $1-million Pepsi North America Cup harness race.

The horse was the fastest winner of Saturday’s three elimination races, posting a time of 1:49.2. Lather Up’s handlers took the No. 4 position at the race draw Tuesday at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Canada’s richest harness event will take place Saturday night.

Wes Delight and Stay Hungry, the other elimination winners, selected the first and second spots, respectively, in the 10horse field. Stay Hungry is the 3-1 second pick while Wes Delight is listed at 5-1.
