HAMILTON OLDTIMERS’ BASEBALL ORGANIZATI­ON Harvey Sahker smacked three hits to lead the Dodgers to a 9-5 win over the previously unbeaten A’s in 55-and-over division. Dan Kaluzny and Greg McEachern each had two hits for the Dodgers, while Rich Salvatore and McEachern each had a pair of RBIs. Paul Smelser belted three hits for A’s, while Fred Midgley drove in two runs and Robin Pozzo scored two. In the other game, the Cardinals moved back into a tie for first with the A’s with an 11-9 win over the Tigers. Brian Avery had four hits for the Cards while Doug Jackson and Chris Fraser each had two. Avery, Jackson and Garry David each had two RBIs for the winners. A ninth-inning rally by the Tigers fell short. Rod Noseworthy led the Tigers with four hits, while Al Purins had three. Mark Novosel had a pair of hits while Rod Currie drove in two runs. Two late season honour scores have been turned in to raise the perfect game total to 21 and the 299 total to eight. Rolling his second 300 in a week was Len Garinger Jr. as started with a 223, then the 300 game, followed by 227 for a 750 triple, then a 224 game for a 974 set for the 217 average bowler. Then in the last week of the season, Art Oliver Jr., started with 182 and 243, before the 299 game, then another 11 strikes in a row in his last game for a 290, and a 1014 set. Along with the 21 perfect games, and the eight 299 games, there has been one 296 game, seven games of 290 and 11 triples of 800 or better with Art Oliver Jr.’s 823 the best, followed by Josh Colwell 813 and Scott Tarbut 812.
