If you’ve heard Robin Benedict sing, you know she can do Janis Joplin better than anyone else in town. On Friday, June 15, Benedict is hosting “Busted Flat in Hamilton,” an entire night celebratin­g Joplin’s music with a top-notch band at the Leander Boat Club, 50 Leander Dr., at 8 p.m. $30.

THE BEACHES

Juno breakthrou­gh group of the year The Beaches headline the two-day Liquid Art Festival Saturday at 6 p.m. with Lost Cousins at the Collective Arts brewery, 207 Burlington St. E., Hamilton. BRAD CHEESEMAN

Hamilton bass virtuoso Brad Cheeseman was honoured this year with a Juno nomination for “The Tide Turns” as jazz album of the year. On Saturday, June 16, 8 p.m., Cheeseman and his band will perform at the intimate Artword Artbar, 15 Colbourne St. at James North. $10 admission.

Country superstar husband-andwife team Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are bringing their Soul2Soul world tour to Hamilton’s FirstOntar­io Centre on Monday, June 18, at 7:30 p.m., with opening act Caroline Jones. There may still be a few tickets left online at Ticketmast­er.ca or at the FirstOntar­io Centre box office.

THE SKIFFS

The Skiffs are an all-star Hamilton band specializi­ng in yacht-rock covers. They’re hosting a “Father’s Eve” show Saturday, June 16, at Mills Hardware, 95 King St. E., with Astromen and Chulahoma. All Dad-rock, all night — Eagles, Dire Straits, Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Hall & Oates, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. 8 p.m. $20 with proceeds going to Interval House.
