THE FINDHORN PHILOSOPHY

-

Over the course of more than half a century, members of the Findhorn Foundation and its surrounding community have lived three principles guiding their work in the world:

1. Inner listening

What is it? Becoming still, going within and receiving guidance from deep inside. Meditation and being in nature are the two things that will take you there. Listening to that guidance, attuning to universal consciousness, then trusting and acting on that attunement is the central process through which the foundation and the community lives and evolves.

2. Work is love in action Experience Week students are taught that work offers them the chance to bring their whole selves and their highest love to daily life. Gardening, cooking and maintaining the grounds, cabins and guest rooms are all considered practical ways of showing love in action.

3. Co-creation with the intelligence of nature

Dorothy Maclean began communicating with plant spirits in the 1960s, with amazing results. Years later, the Findhorn Foundation continues to teach students that nature is one of the greatest partners we could ever have. Connecting on a spiritual level with plants, birds, animals, water, earth and air allows us to co-create together, it says. The result? Abundant food, harmony and a more creative relationship with life.
