I hope Ford supporters sleep well

RE: SEX EDUCATION

I am appalled the province has reverted back to a 20year-old sex-ed curriculum. The world is totally different than it was when this was written, and there are real and present dangers kids need to be protected from. That’s why over 4,000 parents and professionals were consulted on the 2015 curriculum over 10 years.

Who was consulted over this decision? I would have loved to have had a voice on this. I had an option to contribute to the last discussion, but for a government that promised to be for the people, they sure are making arbitrary decisions without consulting much of anyone except the people who ensured Premier Ford would win the nomination for leader.

This is too important an issue to be used as political payback. There are vulnerable kids who will be hurt.

Bottom line is, from this day forward, every girl who drops out of high school because of an unwanted pregnancy that she didn’t know how to prevent as a result of this change is on this government and the minister.

Every 13-year-old boy who is convinced his desires for other boys are dirty and goes home to take a fistful of his mom’s sleeping pills as a result of this change is on this government.

Every young old woman who sees the world through heroin-deadened eyes after being sex trafficked since she was 14 because she didn’t know how to protect herself from online predators because of this change is on this government and those who support this move.

Hope you all sleep well.
