8 new shows Shonda Rhimes is launching at Netflix

Netflix announced Shonda Rhimes and producing partner Betsy Beers, who run Shondaland, have eight series in developmen­t.

Untitled Shonda Rhimes Project

Series will be based on young Manhattan con-artist Anna Delvey, who was profiled by New York magazine in a viral article titled, “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People.”

Untitled Bridgerton Project

Based on Julia Quinn’s bestsellin­g novels, this series promises to peek into “the glittering, wealthy, sexual, painful, funny and sometimes lonely lives of the women and men in London’s high society marriage mart as told through the eyes of the powerful Bridgerton family,” per a Netflix release.

“The Warmth of Other Suns”

Based on Pulitzer-Prize winning author Isabel Wilkerson’s book of the same name, the series will track the decades-long migration of African-Americans fleeing the Jim Crow South in search of a better life in the North and the West.

“Pico & Sepulveda”

“Pico & Sepulveda” will be set in the then-State of California in the 1840s as American forces approach the border to claim the land as their own.

“Reset: My Fight for Inclusion and Lasting Change”

Series based on Ellen Pao’s memoir detailing the lawsuit she brought against her former employer that shook Silicon Valley to its boys’ club core.

“The Residence”

Based on Kate Andersen Brower’s nonfiction book, “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” this series will offer an insider’s account of White House residence staffers and the upstairs/downstairs lives they share with the First Families.

“Sunshine Scouts”

Netflix says this darkly comedic series will follow a group of teenage girls who survive an apocalypti­c disaster at sleepaway camp and must summon their survival skills to weather the fallout.

“Hot Chocolate Nutcracker”

Behind-the-scenes doc looks at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy’s award-winning reimaginin­g of the classic ballet, “The Nutcracker.”
