July 20, 1928 - July 22, 2018 and

September 16, 1925 - July 24, 2018 Robert (Bob) was born in Hamilton, Ontario, the ninth of eleven children. The last survivor of his generation, he grew up through hard times in a loving family. Gladys (Glady) was born in Toronto, the fourth of six children. They met at Limberlost Lodge, Muskoka in the summer of 1947 and married on July 2, 1949. They are survived by their sons Paul (Glenna), John (Adelle), David (Leah), Peter (Janice), Mark (Andrea) and their daughter Ellen Underhill (Michael), 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bob spent 30 years in the corporate business world and in personal enterprises while Glady provided him support in raising the family, often on her own, while work took Bob away. Throughout those years they made homes in Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta. They ultimately worked side-by-side in their Good Book and Gift Shop and Herald House mail order book business. In 1979, in a spirit of challenge and adventure, they sold their business in Guelph, Ontario and purchased a small farm, which they named Green Pastures, in Enderby, B.C. It was to be their home for the next 34 years where they would host family and friends in countless gatherings. Bob became an avid beekeeper and proud caregiver to a sizable flock of Suffolk sheep. Glady was an extraordinary gardener and it was said that she could plant a hockey stick and make it bloom. Their Christian faith was central to their lives and Bob served as an Elder and Evangelist and Glady as a Teacher in the Community of Christ church. They have left us with a wealth of good memories and an abiding sense of their love for life, family, and the beauty of this world. Their love affair was one for the ages. A memorial service and celebration of lives will be held at Bowers Funeral Home in Salmon Arm, B.C. at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. In lieu of flowers you could make a donation to the charity of your choice.
