HAMILTON OLDTIMERS’ BASEBALL ORGANIZATI­ON

Rob Whitenect and Robin Pozzo each smacked three hits to lead the league-leading A’s to a 17-8 victory over the Tigers in the 55-plus division of the Hamilton Oldtimers’ Baseball Organizati­on. Whitenect had two doubles and scored four runs while Pozzo had a double and scored three runs.

Paul Smelser, Keith Howard, Clyde Goldsmith and Dan Creechan each had two hits for the A’s, with Smelser driving in three runs and scoring a pair, while Howard had two RBIs and scored two runs. Creechan and Smelser each belted a double. Jeff Lumby led the Tigers at the plate, hammering out four hits while Rod Noseworthy had three. Mark Novosel, John Fuciarelli, Steve Thorkildse­n and Darrell Smith each had two hits for the Tigers, with Novosel belting a double and scoring two runs.

In the second game, Brian Avery led the Cardinals to a 15-8 win over the Dodgers with three hits, including a triple and a double. He also drove in two runs and scored a pair.

Bert Schenk, Paul Buono, Richard Kirkham, Chris Fraser, Stephen Biback and Ian Robertson each had two hits for the Cards, Robertson drove in a pair of runs, while Fraser, Schenk and Kirkham had two each. Rich Salvatore and Ted Pritchard each had two hits for the Dodgers, while Phil Beaudoin reached base safely during all four of his trips to the plate, with a hit and three walks. Salvatore and Bob McDermott each smacked a double and had two RBIs, while Beaudoin and Dan Kaluzny scored two runs apiece.

Elite High Performanc­e Camp, Aug. 20 to 22 at Bishop Tonnos; this is a high performanc­e, elite camp geared toward driving athletes, both boys and girls.
