FRANCIS, Maria (nee O’Connor)

It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Corelda Francis (nee O’Connor) announce her passing on Friday, August 3, 2018 in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 72.

Maria will be deeply missed by her husband of over 37 years, Rev. Dudley Francis, children Comacho (Heather) of Brantford and Leon (Samantha), step-son Mark (Tracy Ann), and step-granddaughter Amelia of Hamilton. Maria is survived by a number of brothers and sisters in Jamaica as well as extended family in Jamaica, Canada, England, and the United States. Maria will be remembered by many longtime friends and members of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Maria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend and dedicated member of the church. She successfully graduated from Mohawk College in the Health Care Aide Program, in 1978 and spent over 19 years caring for her clients at Grace Villa Nursing Home in Hamilton, ON. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at M.A Clark & Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington St., Hamilton, ON. Hours of the visitation are 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m - 9 p.m.

A “Home Going” service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15th beginning at 10 a.m. at Salvation Army - Meadowlands located at 187 Stone Church Rd. W., Ancaster, ON. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery located at the intersection of Rymal Rd. E. and Upper Wellington. After Interment, a reception and celebration of life will continue at the Knights of Columbus located at 222 Queenston Rd. Officiating ministers for this ceremony will be: Bishops F. Manning and L. Clarke and Pastor L. Knight. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Maria’s life.
