ROCCO, Angelo

-

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Angelo Rocco at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on August 21, 2018 in his 89th year. Devoted husband of Carmen (nee Trevisan). Loving father of Tony (Donna), Sandra, and Luisa (Joe). Cherished Nonno of Matthew, Marcus, Daniel, Leah and Arden. Caring Zio to Ed (Linda) and the late Roger and many in Italy. Predeceased by his parents and siblings in Rivignano, Italy. Angelo left Italy to come to Canada as a young man in 1956 to start a new life, followed by his young wife, Carmen. He settled in Hamilton, using his skills and training as a tailor to work for the Coppley Apparel Group downtown Hamilton for 30 years. He loved his new country, and also remained extremely proud of his Italian heritage, enjoying years of bocce, card games, and celebrations with family and friends at the Famee Furlane in Binbrook. Dad cherished the best things in life: his garden, cooking good food, making good wine, and sharing those things with his family and friends. His twinkling eyes, warm smile and gentle nature will always grace our days. Thanks to the staff of the CTUC unit at St. Joseph’s for their loving and compassionate care. Family will receive friends at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Friday, August 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, 305 East 37th St., on Saturday, August 25th at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
