Police looking for man who assaulted sex trade worker

The suspect was last seen driving east on Centennial Parkway

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifyin­g a man who sexually assaulted a female sex trade worker.

They have also issued a “safety alert” for other potential targeted victims in the sex trade to be aware of the incident.

Police say a woman got into a conversati­on with an unknown man on Barton Street near Emerald Street before getting into his car.

The man then drove to the area of Van Wagner’s Beach Road, where he sexually assaulted and threatened the woman.

The woman managed to escape and ran to a pay phone to call 911.

Responding officers found her unclothed and visibly shaken in the public parking lot on the road.

The man fled eastbound in his car toward Centennial Parkway.

The suspect is described as East Indian, 27-years-old, fivefoot-six and skinny, with short black hair, and a black moustache and beard.

He was wearing a black T-shirt, beige pants, blue Nike sandals and a red baseball cap.

The vehicle is described as a small silver car with four doors.
