Marie’s work here is done. She received a call, the sort of offer you can’t refuse, for an appointmen­t from which she will not be returning. A reunion with her beloved Duffy, son Jamie, family, friends and her much loved dogs, all of whom she has not seen in a long time. Marie Duff age, 94, passed away peacefully August 27, 2018. She was born January 18, 1924 in Toronto to Dorothy and Harold E. Woolley. After proudly graduating from Brescia University College in London, Marie pursued post-graduate studies in Fashion/Couture. She went on to marry John E. Duff (Duffy), and together they establishe­d their family with twins John and Jamieson, followed by Michael.

Mother of John C. (Martha), Jamieson H. (deceased) and Michael W. (Wendy). Dear Nana to John and Thompson Duff. Loving sister of Nancy Sumner (Keith), Theresa Reade, Heather Ainscough and Sandy Woolley. Predecease­d by her husband John E. Duff (Duffy), son Jamieson H. Duff, brothers Harold and Douglas Woolley.

After excelling as a Hostess for the Burlington Welcome Wagon, Marie embarked on a highly successful real estate career, achieving Top Agent in Burlington and area for many years running. Profession­ally, Marie was always fair, honest and caring about all of her clients, most of whom would become loyal friends throughout the years. Known for her outstandin­g sense of humour, her ‘gift of the gab’, her willingnes­s to help people and her amazing style and fashion, Marie will be sadly missed by her dear family, friends, Probus and bridge club girls as well as all that have known her. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME “BURLINGTON CHAPEL”, 2241 New St. (at Drury Lane) on Friday, September 7, from 12 p.m. until time of service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Reception to follow in the Southall Lounge after the service. Private family interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens.
