Notwithstanding on a trivial matter
RE: FORD GOVERNMENT
It defies all good sense that the government of Ontario intends to go to the extreme of suspending parts of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms for something as trivial as downsizing one municipal council.
And it is no small irony that, in affirming its constitutional right to oversee municipalities, the Ford government is ready to suspend parts of that same constitution.
Ontario’s best hope is that clearer heads will prevail. Thomas Mulligan, Grimsby
