Entered into rest peacefully at Edgewater Gardens Dunnville on Monday, September 24, Bruce Martindale Clark of Caledonia in his 97th year. Predecease­d by his wife Helen (1994). Much loved father to Arlene and her husband Richard Everets of Caledonia; Dale and his wife Paulina of Calgary, and Margaret and her husband Joe Quirk of Georgina. Loving grandfathe­r to Leanne and Ryan (Clarke); Jason Everets and Alexandra Clark. Loving great-grandfathe­r to Grace and Michael Clarke. Much loved brother of Patricia Clark Harrell of Florida and brother-in-law to Clarence Curtis. Predecease­d by his sisters Eleanor (Leng) and Doris (Dawson), sistersin-law Verna Bond and Shirley Curtis and brothers-in-law, Bruce Leng, Lenard Dawson, Lorne Curtis, Bernard Bond and Jack Harrell. Bruce was a lifelong resident of Oneida township in Haldimand County and was actively involved in farming until the age of 92. Bruce was also active in the life of his community and his church. He was a municipal councillor, a school board trustee, a member of the Ontario Wheat Board, a trustee for the Oneida United Church and most importantl­y a loving father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r. He lived a full life and left his family a rich heritage and legacy of hard work, honesty and integrity to remember. Cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held on October 18, 11 a.m. at the Oneida United Church, Clanbrassi­l, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oneida United Church or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciate­d.
