Peace festival
Gather at Hamilton City Hall Saturday to celebrate the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Festival from 2 to 5 p.m. This year’s theme is Preventing Violence Against Women. Guest speaker includes Rema Rajeshwari, district police chief and social activist from Telangana State, India. Cats and dogs
Hamilton helps mark World Rabies Day on Saturday by hosting a rabies clinic at Gage Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cats and dogs can be vaccinated for $25 each and microchipped for $25 each. Cash only on a first-come, first-served basis.
Mum and dahlia
Hamilton and District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society’s annual Show and Bloom Auction is Saturday and Sunday at the Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Rd. W. The show runs Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. www.rbg.ca

Apple Festival
