The weekend is here and while the weather looks a little scary, there’s lots to keep you moving Halloween Happenings, Ancaster home show, and even Glen Eden are showing us some winter love.

Heritage and archeology

Spend Saturday learning about the rich history of our area. Heritage and Archaeolog­y Open House and Symposium runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the RBG Centre. Meet archaeolog­ists and hear about their projects, bring in your own artifacts from home and have them attempt to be identified by an expert, and enjoy a series of short talks and presentati­ons about, the landscape, archeology, and cultural heritage focusing on RBG and the surroundin­g area. Futures and fortunes

Tarot, palmistry, crystal ball and aura readings, past lives, numerology, astrology and deep-trance channellin­g are featured at the Hamilton Psychic Expo, Friday, noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 150 King St. E. Home show

Get inspired by hundreds of exhibitors at the Ancaster Home Show, Friday, 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ancaster Fairground­s, 630 Trinity Rd. Film Festival

Halloween Happenings

• Splashing Pumpkins Fall Festival is Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. at Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, 45 Ellis Ave. The swimming pool is filled with pumpkins ready to take home and carve. It's free, and participan­ts toss a hula hoop into the pool to snag their pumpkin.

• Fright in the Forest at Dundas Valley Conservati­on Area is Saturday starting at 4 p.m. Hay-wagon rides, haunted trail, treats and an outdoor screening of the original Ghostbuste­rs film at dusk. Admission is $15 per car for non HCA members.

• Halloween Howl and Hocus Pocus is Saturday at Fifty Point Conservati­on Area. Families will enjoy hayride, bouncy castle, treats, games and more from 3 to 6 p.m. 1479 Baseline Rd., Winona

• Mountsberg Conservati­on Area’s Halloween Spooktacul­ar is open weekends, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., throughout October. 2259 Milburough Line, Cambellvil­le.

• Fright Night at Mountsberg is Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost $25 plus HST for adults. 2259 Milburough Line, Campbellvi­lle.

• Halloween Ho-down Weekends at Puddicombe Estate Farms run Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Live entertainm­ent and so much more. Pick-your-own pumpkin is also available.

• It's Pumpkin Sunday from 12:30 to 4 p.m., at Westfield Heritage Village with games, crafts and pumpkin-themed activities. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 seniors, and $6.50 for children 6 to 12. Parking is free. 1049 Kirkwall Rd., Rockton.

• The Halton County Radial Railway's Halloween Spooktacul­ar is Saturday, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Come dressed in costume. Last car departs at 9:20 p.m. Admission is $15. The Halton County Radial Railway is at 13629 Guelph Line, Milton. hcry.org

• Pumkin Prowl on Saturday from 4:30 to 9 p.m., Belview Park, 205 Belmont Ave. Come dressed in a costume, enjoy petting zoo, treats and more.
