It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Giuseppina (Panunto) Pizzacalla, at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, October 19, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe. Dear mother of Antonio “Tony” (Anne), Gino (Anne) and the late Maria. Loving Nonna to Laura, Katherine, Mia, and Dina. Dear sister of Angelo d. (Enina d.), Carmine d. (Lucia), Helen (Michelle d.) Maria d. (Giovanni), Rosina (Carmine d.) and Santino (Filomena). She is fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Throughout her 91 years, Giuseppina embodied loyalty and perseveran­ce. A lifelong hard worker, she also loved joking, socializin­g and a good party. She was an extraordin­ary cook! Her family will always cherish her loving warmth and hold fond memories of summer evenings gathered for a chat in the garage. Giuseppina was a long time member of the Associazio­ne Cattolica Italiana at Holy Rosary Church and an active member of Club Castropign­ano. Friends will be received at BOCCHINFUS­O FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with Vigil Prayers recited at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Rite of committal will be offered at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Holy Rosary Building Fund or to Hamilton Health Sciences would be appreciate­d by the family. On-line condolence­s may be left at www.bocchinfus­ofh.com. The family would like to thank the outstandin­g staff at Caroline Place Retirement Home for their kindness and community as well as Dr. Colin Stevenson at McMaster Family Practice for wonderful care. We also thank all the staff on Ward F3 at the Juravinski Hospital for delivering care with such consistent compassion and attentiven­ess.
