-

June 15, 1924- October 28, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ann Anka Yaksich on October 28, 2018 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Ann was born in former Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada during her youth. Prior to locating in Oakville, Ann resided in Windsor and Hamilton where she and her (since deceased) spouse, Michael, raised four children. Ann and Michael also were founding members of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral on Nash Rd. Ann’s devotion to values, family, country, church and work ethic blessed her with admirable character and the joy of loving children, (great) grandchildren, friends and community. Throughout, Ann displayed unwavering compassion, decency, respect and dignity. In private testament to her life legacy, Ann passed peacefully in the embracing care and affection of her family.

Ann is now reunited with her husband, Michael Milos, and her parents, Lazo and Julika Borota. In honour of her memory, she leaves four children, Helen, Mickey (Nancy), Larry (Gayle) and Marilyn (Nick); six grandchildren, Christopher (Sandra), Alexandra (Jeff), Lauren (Mark), Daniella, Alex and Myles; and two great-granddaughters, Julia and Rachel. She also leaves her brother, Michael Borota (Barbara), and family and friends in Canada and the U.S. A special thank you to Dr. Alina Nuica and the staff at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and attention. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s honour may be made to a charity of your choice.

Visitation will be held at L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa St. North, Hamilton (905-544-1147) on Thursday, November 1, from 6-9pm.
