Police hope $50,000 reward will lead to information about Musitano murder

Hamilton police hope $50,000 will convince friends and family to lead them to two men wanted in the shooting death of Angelo Musitano.

Musitano, 39, was gunned down in his Waterdown driveway on May 2, 2017, in what’s believed to be part of an organized crime power struggle. He was the younger brother of Pasquale (Pat) Musitano, the reputed local Mafia boss whose St. Clair Boulevard home was riddled with bullets weeks later.

Police allege Michael Cudmore, Daniel Tomassetti and Jabril Abdalla were directly involved in the younger Musitano’s murder. Abdalla, 27, has been arrested but Cudmore, 37, and Tomassetti, 27, fled to Cancun, Mexico, police say.

A recommendation from Chief Eric Girt to be considered at Thursday’s police services board meeting suggests the $50,000 could help locate them. Investigators believe “friends, family or associates are aware of” Cudmore and Tomassetti’s “current whereabouts.” “The reward may also lead to information on the identification of others involved in this murder,” the recommendation adds.

Cudmore and Tomassetti are also wanted for the murder of Mila Barberi, who was shot dead in Vaughan on March 14, 2017. Police believe her boyfriend, Saverio Serrano, was the intended target.

The 42-year-old’s father, Diego Serrano, is connected to organized crime in York Region.
