Passed away peacefully on November 28, 2018 in his 78th year. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years Mary, daughter Kathy (Bob), son Chris, along with his granddaugh­ters Kandice (Lionel), Kaitlyn (Robbie), sister Christine and granddogs Chika, Lola and Charlotte. Chet’s immediate family may have been small but filled with love from cousins, Eddie Stachura (deceased), Rick Stachura, Lee and Mauro Pezzelato, best friends, Ron and Linda Kirkwood, Jim and Mary Tinson, Don Wishart (Margaret deceased), many nieces and nephews and the Knickers. Chet was predecease­d by his parents John and Mary, siblings, Ted, Johnny and Anne along with the golden “dog” Bailey. Sports were a passion of Chet’s, he was an avid baseball player and started his career as a bat boy and hockey player. Bowling was also a hobby he enjoyed, starting when he was a pin chaser. Chet retired after 29 years of service from Dofasco. After Chet’s retirement he enjoyed many part time jobs at: Copps Coliseum, Marlatt Funeral Home and Barton Limo. We would like to thank many of our extended family, Dolores (Gary), Jackie, Sally (Frank), Nancy, Terry, Lisa (John) and Laura, Dan, Judy, David and Michelle, Sylvia and Mary. We would like to thank Doctor DeBenedett­i and Doctor Stimac for their loving care and support over the years. A very special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the Hamilton General Hospital, 4 West, who helped dad travel on his next journey peacefully. Celebratio­n of his life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 58 (1180 Barton Street East) on Wednesday, December 12 from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the SPCA or charity of your choice.
