With the same quiet dignity she lived her life, Norma slipped away peacefully with family by her side at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 in her 98th year. Norma Mowat beloved wife of the late Vic Mowat. Loving mother to Philip and the late Anne, Mitch and Shelley, Rick and Joan, Peter and Nancy, Kathy and Darrell Lint, Rob, Beth and Art Mousseau. Proud and loving grandmothe­r of 14 and great-grandma Norma to seven. Predecease­d by her sister Joyce and George Holland and brother James “Buddy” Glover. Norma served in England as a Sgt. C.W.A.C. and was proud of her service to her country. Community was very important to her and she set an example as dedicated volunteer for many projects including the Cottonwood Mansion, Haldimand Charities for 60 years, Rainham Centre Womens Institute, Historical Society and many more. Norma was honoured as the recipient of Haldimand County’s very first Volunteer of the Year Award. The family would like to thank Dr. Xu, nurses and staff of the Dunnville Hospital for their compassion and excellent care given to Norma. A Celebratio­n of Life will be held at JW Hart Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018 and the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Memorial Donations to the Dunnville Hospital & Healthcare Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciate­d by the family.
