John-Paul Danko

-

JOHN-PAUL DANKO is a civil engineer-turned-councillor who still wants to build bridges. The 41-year-old married father of two spent the last 18 years helping Ellis Engineering design heavy infrastructure, mostly in Niagara. (But if you’ve wandered by the newly rebuilt James Street South retaining wall with the mural, that was one of his.)

The new Ward 8 councillor now has his sights set on Hamilton building projects. Some are literal infrastructure projects — like fixing the crumbling walls of the Claremont Access — while others are about relationships.

“I want to be somebody who can help bridge that gap between the Mountain and lower city, bring a new progressive leaning voice to council,” he said.
