It is with great sadness that we announce our beloved wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma on November 30, 2018 at the Juravinski Hospital, Shirley fought a valiant fight and beat a rare cancer for over 2 Ω years, died peacefully just after celebratin­g her 77th birthday. Mom will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Andy for 57 years whom she has loved since they were teenagers. She loved spending all her free time with Andy whether it was going to the casino, the race tracks, or the movies. Loving mother of Terry (Brenda) and Michele (Don). Dear grandma of Kyle (Courtney), Kory (Kristen), and Justin (Nicole). Great-grandma of Jordyn and Xander. Sister of Len (Anita) and Edward (Deborah). Sister-in-law of Betty and John (Joan). Loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predecease­d by her parents Len Sr. and Laura, brother Gary, and sister Colleen. Shirley worked for 40 years in the health care profession mostly at McMaster Hospital, where she also enjoyed her time in the Chaplaincy Department. She volunteere­d at the Ladies Navy League Auxillary and she will be sadly missed by the TOPPS Group, which have been her friends for many many years. Shirley was a lady who was loved by all that met her and she cared deeply for all those around her. She was the happiest when her family was around her. Mom was a long time fan of the Hamilton Ti-Cats where she had season tickets for many decades. A special thanks to Linda (Bob), Janet, and Len for all the visits and many thanks to the wonderful staff, doctors, and especially the nurses at the Juravinski in F3, M3 and ICU department­s for their care and compassion shown to Shirley during her stay. At Shirley’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1919 King Street East, on Monday, December 3rd from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Vigil prayers will be said on Monday at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Margaret Mary Parish on Tuesday, December 4th at 1:00 p.m. Burial to take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or the Diabetes Associatio­n would be appreciate­d by the family. On-line condolence­s can be made to
