Hamilton police have arrested a Hamilton man — and issued a warrant for his son — in connection to the stabbing death of Michael White in December 2020.

Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, White, 42, was found with multiple stab wounds after collapsing on the road on East 27th Street, near Concession Street. He died of his injuries the next day.

In a release Thursday, police said they had arrested Angelo Graci, 59, of Hamilton on Wednesday in the area of Upper James Street and Rymal Road.

He has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to White’s death.

Police have also issued a warrant for the arrest of Angelo Miller, 29, of Hamilton on a charge of first-degree murder. Miller is the son of Graci, confirmed Det. Sgt. Steve Bereziuk, of the major crime unit.

Bereziuk said the father-son duo — who were known to police — had been identified by witnesses and surveillance footage as the two men that were seen getting out of a blue Kia Soul just before the stabbing.

White was walking southbound on East 27th when the SUV pulled up. He was stabbed multiple times and then tried to run back toward Concession, when he collapsed on the roadway.

Bereziuk said both Graci and Miller are alleged to be involved in the attack but he could not confirm who police believe stabbed White.

A weapon has never been recovered, said Bereziuk.

Police believe the motive for White’s murder is connected to the violent assault of a woman in Miller’s Concession Street apartment that same day.

White was in the apartment when Miller allegedly confined and assaulted a woman with a weapon on Saturday night into Sunday morning, said Bereziuk, who provided no further details on the incident.

“But, they are certainly linked, and I think they lead to … some of the motive behind Michael White’s murder,” he added.

Police believe Miller is still in Hamilton but are now appealing to the public for assistance. If spotted, do not approach, but call 911.
