Where are the tough questions for China?

-

Two recent editorials are critical of the Chinese Communist Party regarding human rights. It is time to harshly criticize the silence of both our federal and provincial governments with regard to COVID and the Chinese Communist Party. Four of the last five major epidemics have come from this area of the world. Ebola was the only one that did not. Whether this virus began accidentally or intentionally Beijing masked it and allowed international flights while eliminating internal flights to the area. Shortly thereafter was the complicity or incompetence of the World Health Organization. The failings and reason for failure in 2003 with SARS were paralleled with COVID-19.

Next we have Teresa Tam who called “racist” the cutting off of flights to and from the area by the U.S. and Australia. Canada is the only western country where the government has not condemned the actions of the Chinese Communist Party or the inaction of WHO. Both the federal and provincial governments have kept silent in criticizing these groups while inflicting much on the Canadian people. We are looking for answers from politically based groups and unfortunately this includes public health. Why would good decisions be expected from individuals or groups that have nothing to lose? Today individuals are terminated for comment not competency. Serious questions need to be asked or is Canada signing on to Belt and Road?
