Brown said the home was built in the mid-1850s by J.K. Griffin, the son of Ebenezer Griffin, who is considered to be the founder of the original village of Waterdown. J.K. Griffin later went on to help build Snake Road, which connected the community to Hamilton, she noted.

Why is it priced this way? Brown said the price of the home was influenced by the size and location of the lot as well as the improvements that have been made to the house.
“It’s been meticulously maintained,” she added. “It’s a move-in ready heritage home.”
