■ The Ancaster Community Food Drive is Saturday. Volunteers will be canvassing homes throughout Ancaster, collecting donations of nonperishable items for eight Hamilton social service organizations. ■ It’s your last chance to see the Hamilton Players’ Guild production of “God and the Indian,” at 80 Queen St. S. The play explores a residential school survivor’s healing process through dialogue. ■ Kids’ Music at the Market returns this Saturday at the Hamilton Farmers’ Market, (35 York Blvd.) from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The free concert series features fun and interactive performances by Hamilton performer, My Friend Christopher, and guest musicians.

■ Chamber Music Hamilton welcomes the Lydian String Quartet for a special performance Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Hamilton (123 King St. W.) ■ The Potters’ Guild of Hamilton and Region presents Next: a biennial juried exhibition, running through March 30 at the Carnegie Gallery, 10 King St. W., Dundas. The event provides an opportunity for guild members to explore new ideas in ceramics and showcase their work for the public. ■ Halton Garden Week wraps up this weekend with Halton Seedy Saturday. ■ The under-21 men’s and women’s Ontario curling provincial championship are heating up this weekend at Dundas Valley Golf and Curling Club (10 Woodleys Lane). The event determines Ontario’s representatives at the U21 Canadian national championship. Spectators are welcome to take in the action, free of charge on Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Food and drink are available for purchase.

■ Westfield Heritage Village offers a taste of maple syrup season on Sundays throughout March at 1049 Kirkwall Rd., Rockton. Starting Sunday at 11 a.m. you can see how sap is turned into syrup, with demonstration in a modern sugar shack. The St. George Lions will be selling pancakes in the Ironwood Hall.
