MARTY TURCO
May 4, 2008 dallas 2, san jose 1 (4OT)
WHILE BRENDEN MORROW SCORED the series-winner in quadruple OT, it was Turco who ensured the team got there.
The Stars goalie fended off 61 of 62 shots during 129 minutes of play, the eighth-longest game in NHL history. San Jose thought it had Turco beat multiple times with surefire goals. Turco robbed Patrick Marleau in the first OT with a kick save as he fell. The Sharks celebrated in triple overtime when Ryane Clowe and Torrey Mitchell thought they’d beaten Turco on a 2-on-1 only to reveal the puck under his pad. Morrow got the headline, but Turco was the hero.
