IN THE CARDS

- – SAL BARRY OF PUCKJUNK.COM

Released not long after the 1991 NHL entry draft, the 1991-92 Pro Set Series I set consisted of 345 hockey cards, plus four randomly inserted “chase” cards of which you might find one in every box or so. Two of these cards were of 1991 draft picks Pat Falloon and Scott Niedermayer. There was just one small problem: neither Falloon nor Niedermayer had played in an NHL game yet, which violated Pro Set’s licensing agreement with the NHL and the NHLPA. So, these cards were pulled early in the production run, making them two of the rarer cards issued that season.
