HOCKEY SENSE “VERY GOOD OFFENSIVE

instincts. His all-around sense is good…it’s a maturation process. He needs to make sure he’s detail-oriented away from the puck.”

COMPETE LEVEL “HE’S GOT A REAL

edge to him. The key nowadays is to walk that line without going over, but he can bring it. He’ll catch guys when they’re not looking. It’s just a matter of consistency right now, doing it every night. But when he’s on, he’s on.”

PLAYMAKING “HE’S GOT GOOD HANDS,

and he can handle the puck in tight. By nature he’s a shooter, but he can zip passes in.”

SHOT “REALLY ONE OF HIS

strengths. He’s got a goal-scorer’s look based on his release and where he can put the puck. It’s certainly one of the traits that attracted him to us in the first place.”

DEFENSE “IT’S NOT NECESSARILY HIS

trademark right now. He’s not the guy you put out on the penalty kill or when you’re protecting a lead, but he does have good sense, and I think, being at North Dakota, he can turn into a player that is relied upon. He has the potential to be a well-rounded player.”

SKATING “HE’S A PRETTY GOOD

skater. Like many young players, it comes down to pushing the pace and moving his feet. But when he gets going, he can push defenders on the rush.”
